John Bouza, MA, CFRE is Executive Director of CANFUND. He has decades of experience in fundraising, marketing, and communications. He was the first person in Ottawa to earn the internationally recognized Certified Fund Raising Executive designation; a credential that must be renewed every three years as he has for 30 years now.

Michael Poliwoda, MBA is an independent fundraising professional and a Senior Advisor with CANFUND. With more than 20 years of experience, his proficiency extends from grantwriting to special event sponsorship to major gifts and capital campaigns. Recent achievements in capital campaigns include $2.4 million for a rural community hospital, $6 million for a youth residential addictions treatment centre, $15 million for a long-term care facility, and $55 million in cash plus a $20 million pipeline for an internationally-renowned heart institute. Michael also has extensive experience in building organizational capacity including serving as a Board member of the National Capital Commission and sitting on the Executive Committee, Governance Committee, and ad hoc revenue generation committee. This is further enhanced with an MBA from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University.

Mark Bowman MBA is a highly successful independent prospect researcher and proposal and grant writing specialist with fifteen years experience in the nonprofit sector and a Senior Advisor with CANFUND.
